SERVICES
Invenium offers a wide variety of services that our clients can leverage throughout the design cycle, as seen below. We can take your design from concept to final production, or we can step in at any stage along the way to help you past a problem. Our staff is particularly skilled at troubleshooting tricky design issues and recommending workarounds even after your boards have been manufactured.
Conceptual Design:
This is the stage when you define your project, whether it is an embedded control board for a household appliance or a tablet computer. Invenium can assist with system specifications and design refinement. At this point, we work with you to identify appropriate chips, DSPs, processors, and other integral parts that will constitute your design. We also offer feasibility studies to help you decide whether your product can be manufactured at an acceptable cost point.
Detailed Design:
During the detailed design, we create the schematics for your product, including generating a net list and creating the logical parts for the your design. We can also design any programmable logic devices (PLDs) incorporated into the project at this phase of the design cycle.
Physical Design:
One of the advantages of Invenium providing both schematic and PCB layout/routing services is that our engineers can identify potential EMI, routing, or manufacturing issues before the board ever reaches your PCB house. Having both the theoretical and tangible designs in front of a qualified engineer significantly increases design throughput. Invenium engineers also address Design for Manufacturing/Design for Test (DFM/DFT) and thermal issues of your design that can become more apparent at this stage of development.
Prototyping:
Invenium will assist in the coordination and manufacture of your board prototype by working with your PCB fabrication and assembly houses. We can also provide recommendations for these types of providers, whether you require small runs for prototype and proof of concept designs or full production yields.
Testing/Integration/Refinement:
Probably one of the busiest stages of the development cycle. Now that you have a physical board in hand, you need power up the board to integrate any software applications, operating system, device drivers, firmware, and/or programmable logic. You also need to consider and possibly implement a test/diagnostic plan for future mass produced boards. Often, this is where many companies hit a snag in development. Invenium staff can step in to act as a liaison between the software and hardware departments to identify showstopper issues, even in designs that our engineers have not worked on prior to the troubleshooting session. Sometimes, issues require an objective eye; and Invenium can fulfill that role for you. And if your staff is ready to move on to a new project, we can assist in writing documentation, creating test plans, and providing on-going troubleshooting and revision recommendations.
Maintenance:
You have a great product with a growing customer base, but a major vendor has just discontinued a significant component on your main design. Or perhaps you require the same functionality in a smaller footprint to compete with market changes. Whether you need component cross references, package adaptations, or design updates for alternate parts, Invenium can assist you with your continued product support.
